1. Eligibility & ownership
You must be the registered owner of the car, or hold written authority from the registered owner to list it. The car's RC, insurance and PUC must be genuine, valid and in your (or the owner's) name. Ghumo Cars may verify any document and may decline or remove any listing at its discretion.
2. Permits & legal compliance
Renting a car out for self-drive is regulated. You are responsible for holding every permit, licence and registration category required by the Motor Vehicles Act and the RTO for the vehicle to be let out for hire. Ghumo Cars will advise on this during review but does not take responsibility for your compliance.
3. Insurance & PUC
- The car must carry valid motor insurance at all times while listed, and must not be listed if insurance has lapsed.
- A valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate must be maintained at all times.
- You agree to renew both before expiry. Ghumo Cars may send SMS reminders and may pause your listing if a document expires.
4. Mandatory GPS tracker
- A working GPS tracker must be fitted and remain active for as long as the car is listed.
- You grant Ghumo Cars access to view the car's live location and trip history through that tracker.
- Removing, disabling, covering or tampering with the tracker, or withdrawing tracking access, is a material breach and the listing may be terminated immediately.
5. Condition, photos & damage declaration
You must declare all existing damage and mechanical issues truthfully and provide clear photos. These photos, together with pre-trip and post-trip inspection records, are the baseline used to assess any damage during a rental. Concealing damage or supplying misleading photos may lead to removal from the programme.
6. Maintenance & roadworthiness
You will keep the car clean, serviced and roadworthy, with valid tyres, brakes and lights, and will make it available in the condition declared at registration.
7. Damage, accidents & claims
Any damage, accident, theft or loss during a rental will be handled as per the process and responsibility split agreed in writing with Ghumo Cars, and subject to your insurance policy terms. Both parties will cooperate on claims, FIRs and repairs.
8. Commercial terms
Rental rates, revenue share, payout schedule and any deductions are not fixed by this registration. They will be shared with you and agreed in writing by the Ghumo Cars team before your car goes live. Submitting this form does not guarantee that your car will be listed.
9. Data, photos & communications
You consent to Ghumo Cars storing and using the details, documents and photos you submit to verify, list, market and manage your car. You consent to receive SMS, WhatsApp, call and push updates about your registration, documents and renewals on the mobile number you registered with.
10. Withdrawal & termination
You may ask to withdraw your car at any time, subject to completing any confirmed bookings. Ghumo Cars may pause or remove a listing for breach of these terms, safety concerns, expired documents or repeated poor condition reports.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra will have jurisdiction.
